During and in the aftermath of the dark period of the Holocaust, writers across Europe and America sought to express their feelings and experiences through their writings. The expert contributors to this volume, who negotiate the literature in the original languages, provide insight into the influence of national traditions and the importance of language, especially but not exclusively Yiddish and Hebrew, to the literary response arising from the Holocaust.

Good story but bad narration

Chase does not narrate well and it sort of ruined the story for me. He is incapable of using anything other than his often over dramatic inflection which detracts from the intention of the author and is yet another reminder that this is just a guy reading a book out loud and not someone who is going to keep you engrossed.

Great but maybe more effort in Hungarian pronunciation?

Lovely performance except there was a mispronunciation of popular and basic Hungarian names like “Nagy”
