Resumen del Editor

This text contains a number of timeless essays from several classic (and mostly out of print) works focusing on the love of books, collecting books, organizing one's library, and how books become lost over time. It is a judicious selection on bibliomania from such distinguished authors as Eugene Field, Christopher Morley, and Issac Disraeli.

Worst Narration I have yet heard.

What disappointed you about The Book Addict: Stories of Bibliomania?

The books sounds like it was read by some sort of auto-reader. It is the worst narration I have yet heard on Audible.

Would you recommend The Book Addict: Stories of Bibliomania to your friends? Why or why not?

I would not recommend this Audible version to anyone. Narration is very robotic sounding. Not a pleasure to listen to at all.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Mark D. Mickelson?

I don't know, Charlton Griffin. I like his work on "The Complete Stories of Sherlock Holmes" anyway.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

This is not a review of the content of the book. I was completely unable to judge the work itself. The narration is so bad that I am not more than ten minutes into the book. I may try to pick the hardback up somewhere.

Any additional comments?

I have a hard time believing anyone narrated a book in this way. It sounds like the narrator recorded a list of words and then a computer program actually read the book. This cannot be listened to in it's current state!
