Interesting and enthralling!!

One of my favorite books of 2026 so far this year, and an interesting take on the serial killer genre. Really well researched too. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, although it kept me up late at night because I couldn’t stop listening lol. Looking forward to reading more of her work.

Love the blend of crimes and dark romance

I feel like there were missing pieces, from Jordan. A glimpse of his intro,
Pieces how he followed her.

Overall 4stars! Great story of crime and passion, dark romance and horror.

Unique

This was a unique story. I do feel like the story dragged a bit in the begging. I enjoyed the true crime facts that we get to learn about. I thought the romance was fine. I wish there would have been more interaction earlier in the book. I felt she flipped too soon and there was not more of a lead up into the flip. The narration was good though.

Vivid imagery, titillating, & exciting

The author painted such vivid imagery! I felt excited, and strangely guilty for wanting to know more of Layla’s world, and how she works. Very titillating read.

definitely not what I was expecting

I really enjoyed the story and the detail of the killers. It's cool when you hear a book from your local area. The ending was a little flat for me, wish it had more of a twist. But I am pretty sure there is going good to a 2nd book. Maybe we will get more twists.
