Once Upon a Prince

What if the women of Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and Little Mermaid, were best friends? Find out in this modern retelling of Cinderella.

Ella Taylor is a young woman with dreams as big as the city skyline. Finally, free of her evil stepmother, she has only one goal; to stay out of her clutches forever. She finds a willing ally in Dax Moore.

Amidst the long hours and dedication, a romance slowly blossoms, shocking and surprising them both.

But when Ella’s past threatens to unravel all she has worked for. She must choose between the life she’s always known and the love she never imagined possible

Once Upon a Beast:

Meet Layla Brown, a fiercely independent and intelligent young woman who is living her dream as an employee of the New York City Public Library. And Nicodemus Murphy, a brooding and enigmatic billionaire who has hidden from life and the woman he loves for years, his childhood friend, Layla.

When a scandal threatens to ruin Nic’s career, he and Layla are forced to see each other again. Old wounds and unrequited love come to the surface, causing the friends to comfort their past and embark on a love neither thought was possible. But will it last?

Once Upon a Star:

Fate brought Aracely and Sebastian together as teenagers, but stubbornness and miscommunication kept them apart. Now, Sebastian, a famous movie star, is in New York City, with one plan in mind, to win the woman that he loves and secure the future he can only have with her. Or else.

Aracely isn’t ready to let him do it again. But Sebastian is determined to prove his worth and devotion. He embarks on a quest to capture Ariel’s heart, even if it means reevaluating his own priorities.

Can Sebastian break free from the constraints of his own fame and win the heart of the remarkable Aracely?

The Billionaire Fairy Tale Trilogy is a steamy romantic trilogy based in New York City. It has plenty of heat, laughter, with a guaranteed HEA and no cliffhangers.

Book 1 is supposed to be inspired by Cinderella. I would give this book a 2 star rating. This book was focused more on spice than on the plot. Every chapter they are being intimate when its based on maybe a month time frame. Even though there are a ton of spicy scenes they are very mild.

Book 2: This book is inspired by Beauty and the Beast. I would give this book a 3 star rating. This book focused on the plot a little more than the spice but needs some polishing. The main characters knew each other in high school but had very little interaction after. The family's decide to pretend they are together to save face. Okay I can get behind this idea however you lose this when they spend very little time together then magically they can't live without each other and rushing to the alter. The spicey scenes are tamed down in this book and i would rate this book 3 peppers.

Book 3: This book is inspired by The Little Mermaid. This one is a lot like the second book. I would give this one a 2 star rating. The spice is the spiciest in this book even though it is still on the mild side. I just could not get into this story at all. The characters knew each other as teens grew apart then reconnect and then become inseparable immediately. I did not get The Little Mermaid inspiration for this one.

I do like the multi voices for the audio. It helps understand which character we are currently following.

I like how these adaptations of classic stories brought them into Corporate 'America'. Each of these friends get their fairytale endings even though the roads there are bumpy.

This trilogy was such an enjoyable and well-executed listen. Each book offers a modern take on a beloved fairy tale—Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid—but instead of feeling predictable, Mackenzie Stowe adds fresh energy and depth to each story. The result is a fun blend of romance, friendship, and fairytale charm, all wrapped in a contemporary billionaire setting.

One of the standout aspects of this audiobook experience was the narration. I was genuinely excited to see Shiloh James as one of the narrators. She’s a favorite of mine, and once again, her performance was top-tier. Her emotional delivery, pacing, and ability to differentiate characters made each scene feel real and immersive. Jim Catapano was an excellent counterpart, bringing the male leads to life with a tone that was warm, confident, and engaging.

What I appreciated most was the narration format. Instead of traditional dual narration, where each narrator voices their own character throughout the story, this series uses a chapter-based approach. Each chapter is voiced entirely by one narrator, who handles both the male and female voices. That could easily become distracting in less capable hands, but here it was done exceptionally well. Both narrators shifted between characters naturally, and it never broke the flow of the story.

The friendships between the heroines added a lot of heart to the series, and the romances had the perfect mix of tension, sweetness, and steam. While each book can technically be read on its own, listening to them in order gives the best experience and allows the overarching connections between the characters to really shine.

This series is definitely intended for mature audiences, with some spicy scenes woven in. If you enjoy fairytale retellings with a modern and sexy twist, this trilogy is absolutely worth the listen. The storylines are fun and romantic, and the narration truly brings them to life. Highly recommended.
