Acerca de esta escucha

A sassy, spicy and hilarious sports romcom for fans of Emily Henry and Meghan Quinn. Miss Congeniality meets the Superbowl!

'Once upon a time, those lips would have curved with a tender smile while his eyes would have roamed across my face, like he was reading a book and he enjoyed the words. Now his expression is stony as if he no longer sees anything worth his interest…'

TOUCHDOWN FOR LOVE

It’s been years since Lily’s heart was shattered by her college sweetheart and star quarterback, Tate Donaghue. Now, he’s a high-profile NFL player, and unfortunately for Lily, her latest security assignment.

For Tate, Lily left all those years ago without so much as a backward glance let alone an explanation. But pretending he’s in love with her now is easier than he’d like to admit…

With the countdown on to the biggest game in the NFL’s history and the threat level intensifying, can Lily and Tate move on from the past – or will they fumble the ball, and their relationship, when it matters most?

Tropes:

Forced Proximity

Enemies to lovers

Second chance romance

Fake dating

Liked the Story, Not the Narrators

Cassie Connor’s book is very light-hearted, plus an easy listen. I was able to listen to the entire book in one day. The story itself has plenty of strong attraction and chemistry which leads to a whole lot of spicy and steamy moments between Lily and Tate. While light-hearted and fun, it was difficult to enjoy at times with de Winter's and Garrett's narrations. Neither seemed to genuinely fit their character very well. Garrett narrated Tate as almost always irritated. I did not see Tate like this as a character all the time. Tate has varying emotions but Garrett narrates very little of those emotions until much later in the book. de Winters did a nice job with Lily although, once again, I did not feel a strong connection. It took me a while to adjust to both these narrators. I wanted to listen to the story but I really wish the narrators could have been different. The story itself is nice and quick but I recommend the book, not the audio.
