The man is kind and handsome, a rare combination in my experience. But then a wili—a female spirit who hates men and protects women—starts killing off people, and Jasper decides to investigate. I find myself conflicted.

The wili is slaying violent men who hit their wives, and I’m not sure I want to stop her. And most importantly, I’m not sure I can pretend that I don’t want a fumble with Jasper.

I really enjoyed Jasper and Charlotte’s story — both characters are so well written, with great chemistry and emotional depth. I’ve always liked their arcs, and this installment made me like them even more. The writing is engaging, and Bobbi Gentili’s narration brings every moment to life beautifully. A wonderful combination of story and performance!

The Beat of a Man’s Heart by Barbara Russell is a wonderful historical paranormal fantasy. Bobbie Gentili did a wonderful job with the narration. The story is entertaining, interesting, romantic, suspenseful, engaging, enjoyable, funny, well written, and more. The Beat of a Man’s Heart is the third book in The Royal Occult Bureau series. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.highly recommended
