What an amazing performance. It was very entertaining. I would love to see a sequel.

A really great new twist on werewolf’s

I found this book really fun reading. Interesting characters and decent story lines. The idea that the wolf may be migrating in and out of an area every 10 years or so is interesting. I don’t feel that the wolf got enough voice time or the concept of who he was and how long he has been afflicted still needs answering. All in all an interesting story.

I Really Liked It!

Stupid, thy name is Wendy! Seriously, her choices were absolutely ridiculous! So, there’s that. Also, I really wanted Brian to get out from under his father’s thumb and leave town. I was not happy about that little nugget of a character arc. Loved Johnny, Ben and Kathy. They rocked. Great storyline!
Awesome book! Lots of fun! I liked all the gore! Definitely a must-read if you like werewolf books! I want to read more from this author.

Solid story, bad ending

The story was good, solid narrator. The ending with a particular character though after a certain event was disgusting and not in a good way.

Good storyline but vulgar at times

First I would like to say that I'm really into horror/paranormal/thrillers. Wherewolf stories as especially intriguing to me. Overall this was a great story with the right amount of gore. I thought the narrator was spectacular! I very much enjoyed how he portrayed the characters. The story was paced in a way that made it an easy listen to stay interested in. See below for additional info but it may be a spoiler

*My only complaint is that I thought the sexual parts were at times unnecessary and vulgar. There was A LOT of sexual scenes in the book. There were parts in particular that involved sexual assault. Honestly, it was descrived in disgusting detail and I almost couldn't finish the book.

A Good Read

It definitely scratched my scary itch, and I really enjoyed the tempo. Overall a good read from start to finish.

An enjoyable werewolf tale!

I'm always on the look out for a good werewolf read, and this one satisfied my thirst ;)

The pacing of the plot was fast enough because we basically had a bloody death every few chapters, and the plot itself was entertaining. Brenton Woods has seen tragedy before, but things went quiet for a few years so the locals thought their problem was solved, but a white form has been seen in the woods, and bodies are starting to appear just like the last time. The people who remember know that the Beast is back, and it's hell bent on revenge.

I pretty much enjoyed everything about this book. It was an easy read, and held my attention till the very end. The deaths are bloody and the werewolf is savage, which is as it should be!! I listened to this over the course of a single day and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm hoping there is another one because the ending left it so there could be! I'd enjoy coming back to Brenton Woods.

In all, an enjoyable, gory, werewolf tale and one I know I'll read again.

Joe Hempel is one of my go to narrators for Horror. He knows how to perform a book and make a story come alive. He has a wide array of tones and voices and always gives a great performance.
