Fleeing a painful tragedy in Philadelphia, Liliane assumes a new identity as Kacey Smith and leaves her nursing past behind. Her life takes another unexpected twist though when she’s left with a baby boy and a letter directing her to a mysterious man. Unbeknownst to her, this man is tied to the nursing past she's been trying so hard to leave behind…

Levi West returns from the war to find his family gone and his ranch destroyed. Desperate to find his missing sister, he takes on work as a deputy in a town terrorized by a ruthless gang. However, when he encounters the nurse who once saved his life, will he be able to balance duty and his growing feelings for her?

As they face murderous outlaws and rising corruption, Levi and Liliane find it impossible to keep their growing feelings a secret. Are they brave enough to face the dangers ahead—and the cold, plain truth about each other, or will hidden lies destroy their relationship before it even begins?

"The Baby Found at Dawn" is a historical romance novel of approximately 60,000 words. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after.

The main character, Liliana, tortures one with what she thinks of herself, blaming herself for an unfortunate death of a child although she knows deep down she can’t be held legally responsible. However, she flees, changes her name, & withholds this information thinking that being caught in her lies will be even worse & that she couldn’t possibly be forgiven. For me I had nothing else to listen to on a long car ride so I stuck with it. I guess I’ve read or listened to too many books where this “thinking what will a person think of me, or feeling that is what the person will think of me” dialogue is played in the head(s) of main characters. At least all is sorted out eventually but couldn’t help but feel tortured until it was.

Too much of what one thinks
