Writing as an avid fan of self-improvement books, this one baffled me. The author can't seem to distinguish between cause and effect. With the exception of a brief flyover in Chapter 8, "Letting Go Of The Past," which offers no advice whatsoever about actually dealing with pain and problems, self-inflicted or otherwise, this book is about putting band aids of serious issues. Our intuition is protective and it is there for a reason. The reason one continues to be troubled about an issue is because it is important and unresolved. We can't do deep breathing exercises to solve our problems. There is a reason for that nagging voice and this book tells the reader how to ignore it. How the author arrived at the notion that "35 exercises" will eliminate our problems and stresses is inexplicable.

Additionally, the author has an agonizing grasp of the obvious that makes a bad book even harder to read. Much of the book dwells on the importance of diet, exercise, sleep and stress management. A simple statement acknowledging that these four factors are important to our physical and well being would have been amply sufficient. Instead, that horse is beat to death, then raised from the death again and again to the detriment of the poor reader.

Finally, who is Miles Niska and who is "Rumi Publishing?" His bio on Amazon and other places on the internet is vague and sketchy to the point of being unnerving. Why would any author with to be so opaque?
