Truly remarkable
I’ve left a detailed review on Amazon which I won’t fully repeat here… but listening to this as an audiobook (after reading it a while back) really brings forth the rich and deep feeling journey of each of the characters in a way I hadn’t expected. This is a multi-layered story that, while written for middle-school aged people, has a sophistication and depth that would be rewarding for listeners of all ages. The main plot brings science and empowerment to the fore, supported by rich detailing of the lives of each character, tag-teaming the telling of the story that creates a world around an ensemble cast ripe for further exploration in future books. The author voiced this, which can be a risky choice, but she subtly conveys each character in a way that brings each to life. Perfect choice for the next family car trip!
