Acerca de esta escucha
The American Revolution by Richard Snowden is a book published in 1903 that provides a comprehensive account of the political and military events of the American Revolution, from the Stamp Act of 1765 to the Treaty of Paris in 1783.
Snowden emphasizes the role of liberty and democracy in motivating the colonists to seek independence from Great Britain, while also examining social and economic factors that shaped the Revolution. The book's writing style uses the Biblical language of King James, which was popular at the time and suggests solemn attention to the listener.
As an original work published shortly after the Revolution's success, Snowden's book reflects the solemnity with which the first independent Americans viewed their Revolution as an act blessed by God, containing providential inspiration and interventions that contributed to its success.

We can never forget!
This audiobook offers an engaging and insightful exploration of one of the most significant periods in American history. Snowden goes beyond the typical military and political narratives, delving into the social, cultural, and ideological changes ushered in by the Revolution. The meticulous research and ability to weave complex ideas into an easy listening experience make this audiobook a valuable listen for both academic and casual listeners.
I especially enjoyed the focus on the global context of the Revolution, detailing the intricate international relations that influenced the war's outcome. Snowden's nuanced portrayal of events and his seamless blending of personal stories into the broader narrative gives listeners a comprehensive understanding of the American Revolution. Balancing detailed research with an engaging style, Snowden's audiobook is a must-listen for those interested in this amazing period.

A fun and patriotic telling of the American Revolution.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves American history and wants a new way to consume it. This book reads and sounds like the scriptural language in the king James version of the Bible. It mentions some people and events I had not been aware of previously in connection with the revolution. It’s a very positive, faith, promoting, patriotic, telling of the founding of the United States of America.
