The Alien of Applewood Lane

It's 1983 and Tricia Baker is 10 1/2 years old and not looking forward to a long boring summer. There are no smartphones, Facebook or even an internet yet. She is the only little girl living on her dead end country lane, in fact the only kid at all. Unless you count weird Eddie Cohen, and she doesn't. Then one day a moving truck appears, and her initial excitement about new neighbors is dashed when she learns it is really just one very strange little man moving in. When Eddie's dog and other neighborhood animals disappear, she and Eddie team up to try to find them. Along the way she and Eddie become friends. But when Eddie himself seems to disappear, Tricia is left alone to face down the man Eddie insists is the alien of Applewood Lane.

This was perfect for a nice short listen. I gave this one 5 star for story and overall. I never give five for V voice because it truly is not a performance.

This story is more young adult based but I truly enjoyed it. It had a Burb’s feel but in with a serious tone, not a comedy. The mystery was solid and that’s all I will say as I don’t want to give anything away on a short story but the end leaves you looking forward to book two.
