Along the way he crosses paths with Martin Luther, Erasmus, Thomas Müntzer, Heinrich Pfeiffer, Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, and Pope Clement VII. Listen as the Protestant Reformation explodes across Europe, consuming empires, nations, and entire populations. It is a conflagration that burns itself out in smoking ruins during the Siege of Rome in 1527.
