Interesting story, idiot reader

Why did they get someone who apparently never heard of a single French word, or even some English words, to read a book written by a NYT contributor? This reader can’t pronounce “rakish” and the way he pronounces the name Odile (oh-dial) nearly caused me to chip a tooth I gnashed my teeth so hard. Insanity
