Reseñas de la Crítica

"Though his conversational charm makes him come across like your best friend talking over lunch, the author is a seasoned authority who explains procrastination with clarity. He knows a lot abotu the internal and behavioral reasons we put things off, and, most important, he closes his ideas and arguments with practical strategies for getting off the dime. This encyclopedia for getting things done bears repeated listening." (AudioFile)

Some Good Tips

This book is contains 60 chronologically ordered ideas for overcoming procrastination. Some of these ideas are quite good and each idea will not suit each person. This book is not so much a motivational book but rather a book suggesting various strategies to overcome inertia and lack of action. This is not a quick fix book as all the ideas contained within will require action on the readers/listeners part.

60 random ideas to stop procrastination

Perhaps I was expecting too much more, but this "approach" is not so much a method or system but 60 different ideas to stop procrastinating behavior. Some are better than others, but it doesn't really hang together. Disappointing

Not Grounbreaking, but not Bad

I found this book more "Supportive" then "Enlightening". Most of the tips were simple common sense, but relevant all the same. And I do have to admit some of the odder suggestions do have merit. For example, I laughed at the "Aroma Therapy" suggestion - but had to admit I found the smell of a hot pizza completely distracting.

I found just remembering that millions of other people have the same problem and the gentle pep talk most helpful. So if you're looking for miracle cures - keep looking. If a few words of encouragement instead of pressure will be a refreshing change - this book may be for you.

Friendly voice, trite examples

All the techniques sounds good, but nothing jumped out to make that required notice. A call to procrastinate on actually finishing this book is needed here.

My most listened to management book

There are hundreds of books offering advice on managing and organizing our busy home and working lives. I have read and listened to lots of them as audiobooks, but, I can honestly say that this is the one that I have listened to the most. In fact, I am going to buy the book too. In a short space of time it covers a huge range of different strategies for getting focussed and working. The narrator tells us to pick and use the idea that will work to break through the current roadblock. What I particularly like about it is that it is not offering just one prescription but many, and recognizes that different approaches to getting moving will work on different days! The ideas will work in a huge range of situations. I have advised many of the university students that I teach to read or listen to this book.

Only Way to Eat an Elephant...

... Is one bite at a time. This book is good, in that it gives you the approaches to addressing things in bite size pieces. In this day and time when we are so easily overwhelmed by the mountain of things we have to do (for me, that is what causes my procrastination), bite sized approaches are priceless. I have listened to this several times just to have a refresher, and will do so in the future.

Great book

This books contains alot of common sense stuff. It does, however, help to have someone else point some of it out to you. It also includes some pretty clever "tricks" to get you to start a task.
