Acerca de esta escucha
Brought to you by Penguin.
The stunning new psychological suspense from the Sunday Times best-selling author of How to Disappear.
What would you do to protect your family?
Anything.
During a family holiday in Italy, you get an urgent call from your sister. There's been an accident: she hit a man with her car and he's dead. She's overcome with terror - fearing years in a foreign jail away from her child.
She asks for your help. It wasn't her fault, not really. She'd cover for you, so will you do the same for her? But when the police come calling, the lies start. And you each begin to doubt your trust in one another.
What really happened that night? Who is lying to who? Who will be the first to crack?

How did this narration get through?
It's very rare I find awful, or even sub-standard narration on Audible, and this is nowhere near the worst. But it was intonation-free and machine-gunned at the listener rather than read intelligently, or with any nuance/ sense of character differentiation and pacing. I always feel so sorry for authors when they're let down in this way.
Actually, it was as though the insular and rather spiritless character Cathy was reading the whole thing.
One further niggle - the closeness of the three siblings is weird and unsettling in a way I really doubt was intended.
