“[Ahern] gives us full permission to believe in magic.”
—Redbook Magazine
One of the world’s most popular writers of women’s fiction—author of the beloved international bestseller, P.S. I Love You, basis for the popular film starring Hilary Swank—Cecelia Ahern now gives us Thanks for the Memories, a heartwarming tale of déjà vu and second chances. Reminiscent of The Time Traveler’s Wife, Thanks for the Memories is a love story brimming with hope and feeling and enlivened with an enchanting touch of magic.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Not her best, but not bad. It was a heartwarming story, but the narrator's HORRIBLE American accent left a lot to be desired.Would you be willing to try another book from Cecelia Ahern? Why or why not?
Of course. Her stories are heartwarming and even inspiring in the case of "Time of Your Life".How did the narrator detract from the book?
Her American accent was awful and obnoxious.Did Thanks for the Memories inspire you to do anything?
Live life to the fullest. Not bad...

Many others have noted this issue and have sited the author's lisp as part of the problem. The lisp, for me, was not an issue at all. I actually did not mind the lisp. The problem for me was that the narrator's range was not sufficient enough to distinguish one character from another. I was often confused about who was meant to be speaking. This was true for almost all characters with two notable exceptions: the father (his brogue was very recognizable) and any character that was supposed to have an American accent. The narrator just could not pull off an American accent - at all. I would be a minor complaint if there was only a passing American character; sadly, one of the main characters - a male, who I presume will eventually be the love interests of the female lead - is an American. The voice acting she uses for him is like nails on a chalkboard. Not only does the accent not hit the right note, for some reason, she decided to make him whine everything he says? The nasally, comically-bad-American-accented whine was just too much for me.
I plan to pick up the text version and hope I can scrub that whiny voice from my mind.
Thank goodness audible has a great return policy! :D

What disappointed you about Thanks for the Memories?
I had to switch over to the Kindle version of the book because the narrator's lisp and congested voice were too distracting. I usually enjoy Cecelia Ahern books & hopefully the written version is better than the audible because this is horrible. How did the narrator detract from the book?
She has a lisp, sounds congested and doesn't differentiate between character's voices very much. This narrator is awful
