If you are interested in this book I would suggest reading it as the AI narrative is so boring. but the story is good

Wisconsin Christians

The author has definite faults that the digital voice play up. Spelling mistakes and a lack of understanding of how teen girls talk are present but...yeah. The speed people turn on their own church members is very real and very Wisconsin. The world building could be better but feels like the most accurate way kids learn so...over all good

Good story, but that AI narrator…

I enjoy this series, but the virtual voice kills any emotion or feeling you could get from characters.

The AI voice is awful

The story is good. The AI voice is almost unbearable. I almost quit listening a few chapters in because of the AI voice, but i powered through because I was already invested in this series wanted to follow the story. It was painful though.

even with the virtual voice this book is great! I need to buy the beginning of the series. I just love Steve Higgs, his stories are awesome.

I will always check for Virtual Voice. It is a definite no go for me. Painful to listen to.

enjoyed the story, did not like the virtual voice. too monotone never had the inflection where it was appropriate or at all

Couldn’t keep my interest

The story was ok but not something that could keep my interest. Usually I like strong female characters but three bickering teens lost me early on. The performance was terrible. Sounded like Alexa or Siri doing an infomercial. I’ve loved all his other books, just not this one.
