Resumen del Editor

One man's crusade to protect the children.

"Stay away" - Those are the two words written on the forehead of every pedophile murdered in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Joshua Theaker is tasked with finding the killer whose killing methods involve strange weapons. Theaker and local law enforcement find it hard to agree on where the trail goes, while the local FBI is distracted by child kidnappings. For Theaker, there is a pattern among the victims. But just when Theaker thinks he is getting closer to the killer, he strikes again. And again.

No GREATER Evil!

As I listened to this audio book my stomach turned with disgust, but I couldn't stop listening. I enjoyed the twists and turns, the overall suspense and mystery kept me on the edge of my seat at all times. In my opinion there is no GREATER EVIL than someone who can look at, think of or do to a child the things these monsters do. Is it wrong to cheer for the guy killing when you think of the kind of people he is killing? Is he just another type of monster? If you like heavy topics (based on true events), one that will suck you in leaving you with questions why you cheer for a guy killing people then you will enjoy this... I DID!

Good narration, okay book

Tell my Dad is a good listen. Fast paced enough to overlook the unrealistic set-up and it breaks from formula which is nice. The formula in this case would normally be the vigilante killing an innocent and thankfully it did not go down that tired road. I guess that was a tiny spoiler? Oh well. Doesn't give much away.
Narration was good enough to bump the overall rating a whole star. I would read more by Mr. Muthiah and definitely would listen to more of Mr. Troxell.
I was gifted this audiobook in exchange for an honest review

Gut-wrenching

This was a pretty gut-wrenching novel since it is based on true events. It makes me want to hug my kids tighter and review "stranger danger" with them. I do, however, have a criticism of the book, and that is that the language sounds unnatural due to the lack of contractions - for example, "I do not..." instead of "I don't...," and so on. Generally, people in America speak with lots of contractions. There were a couple of other things that struck me as odd, and that is that when a character called 911, the operator did not remain on the line with the girl until the police showed up, but instead disconnected the line. I can't remember the other thing that I thought didn't make sense. Those things didn't really detract from the story, though, and I liked the story, even though the subject matter was disturbing. I listened to the Audible audio version of this book narrated by Brian Troxell. I liked his narration and found his voice easy on the ear. I would definitely listen to other books narrated by him.

Engaging and eye-opening novel

This was a very good story with an intriguing plot based on what has become a more common phenomena than we should be fine with - child abductions. To be honest, before reading the book I never thought much about it. Just like with many other horrible things that happen I would grow desensitized to when I'd see an Amber alert on my phone.

This novel engaged me with the story of a series of abductions and a father who couldn't heal after losing his daughter.

Intriguing, Compelling & Suspenseful - Must Read!

I was instantly drawn into this book from the first chapter. It is an excellent story although at the same time it is very disturbing as it is based on true events. The story and characters are very well written and developed which draws you in and makes you feel as if you part of the story. The author is very descriptive with his writing, allowing you to develop a picture of what is happening and what each character may look like. The story is fast paced, with plenty of twists and turns and does not give you the opportunity to lose interest. I felt that I was always wanting more and was disappointed when it ended.

Brian Troxell did an excellent job with his performance of this book. He has great pace, tone and inflection. He adds to the suspense in this book and brings the story to life in your minds' eye. He portrays each character with emotion, allowing you to picture in your imagination what they may look like and makes you feel as if you know the characters personally. Overall, I enjoyed this book and look forward to more work from Mr. Muthiah and Mr. Troxell.

Gripping story about child abductions in Bay Area

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Tell My Dad is a quick and smooth 5 hour read centering on child and young adult abductions and college-age girl victimization. Along the way there is a Superman vigilante-type character who kills perpetrators and leaves the words "stay away". There are also a myriad of additional characters, including police officers, family members, and a college student investigating the abductions. It's a busy read.

Would you recommend Tell My Dad to your friends? Why or why not?

I gave this book a 3 due to the incredulity of the setup. According to this book, there is at least one victimization every day in a metro area, and Superman manages to figure out and kill every perpetrator. This story would have been better if set up in a fantastical setting, rather than starting out with the statement that the book was inspired by true events.

Have you listened to any of Brian Troxell’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I really enjoyed narrator Brian Troxell's voice--smooth and enthusiastic without being over the top. I did not particularly like his feminine voices or ethnic voices which is the reason for 4 stars.

Do you think Tell My Dad needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Yeah, go the fantastical route and put the vigilante and Samantha in a series together.

Any additional comments?

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I think Ram Muthiah did an honorable job his first book out!

Well writted fiction of the darker side of reality

Its been a while since my last book, but this one reminded me how much of a book worm I was.  The story kept me in suspense at every chapter.  As i went  into from page to page, i got submerged into the story.

I appreciated the level of detail on how the author wrote the characters, they felt like real people walking around my head when i was in between chapters. The narrator did a good job at getting the people to come to life.  I know some of this is made up, but i also know the same story might playing out in real life somewhere else.

This paints the harsh reality of this day and age.  This has touch my life by making me more aware.  Not necessarily affect my day to day nor to make me love if fear, but to be more mindful and emphatic of the going on and people around me.  Having a 1 yr old is a turn in my life and i cant imagine having to go through what does people went through.

This book is well written and worth the read.
