He hadn’t realized he’d been holding his breath. Just a pesky coyote. ‘I’m glad I didn’t call Arie.’ Johnny turned his horse and continued with his round. He broke into a whistle, his stomach rumbled, adding to the symphony. Johnny heard the bullet smack into his lower right back, followed by excruciating pain accompanied by the sound of the rifle shot. He felt himself tumble from his horse.
