A guide for work-from- homers and new users

2020, for the human race, is not the year to bookmark and look back with nostalgia in the future. The pandemic is still hitting us hard, and there are still two months to go. Writing a guide about consumer technology, more specifically the traditional computers and their miniaturized versions, however, perhaps didn't have a better time. On the one hand, it is not 2000s anymore that everyone needs a helping hand to use and choose computing devices. On the other hand, the situation is such that many workers are forced to work from home, and sometimes required to buy their own devices. The latter can use some guidance. The internet have become notoriously monetized these days, with reviews being sponsored and social-media ratings artificially inflated. Sure, there are still many consumer friendly sources, but they have become more difficult to find by the casual and first time users. I dedicate this book primarily to the educators who are not very fluent in this arena and have to take classes from home. Secondarily, I dedicate this book to younger people and new users to guide them for their next computer-technology purchase. I have tried to lengthen the longevity of the text by avoiding specific model names, instead I tried to point out to more of the trends. I hope that readers will find the discussion and pointers quite useful.
