Kurt Silva was a rising star in the immersive first person shooter phenomenon Team Deathmatch, an elite level gamer who became a working class hero by fighting his way to the top of the leaderboards. Then fame and fortune got the better of him, he burned out, and Kurt lost it all. He now spends his days training other players, doing his best to help newbies from getting fragged, caring for his aging parents, and barely earning enough to make ends meet. So when he gets tapped by the mysterious creator of Deathmatch to participate in the ultimate pay-per-view unveiling of the newest add-on alongside the top one hundred players on the leaderboards, he doesn't hesitate to say yes. Soon he finds himself in control of a combat drone, wielding real life weapons against other drones while his body lies dormant inside a gaming pod deep in the company's bunker complex. Kurt locks and loads as he ventures into a violent open world scenario with nothing to lose and everything to win. What could go wrong?
