they are committed to dismantling social barriers to learning through collaborative,
cross-disciplinary research and developmental, supported experiment cycles that
bridge theory and practice. Guiding the Lab’s vision is Gerry McDonald CBE, Group
Principal and CEO of New City College, who recently called for greater flexibility in
qualification design to meet the ever-changing demands of the skills industry. His
leadership reinforces the Lab’s mission: to cultivate research-informed educational
environments that ensure learners are confidently future-ready.
