With the help of the dragon, a quirky fairy, a shifter, and a tiny tea-drinking owl, Mahkai learns sometimes family is not what you are born into, but who you choose. Under mounting pressure from his family to return home, Mahkai must choose to accept himself as he is or give up his love of learning and tea and return home to be his father's son.
