Resumen del Editor

Stripped of her Silver Scale, made a pariah by the Summit, and with a price tag the size of Kentucky on her head, Ayala is on her own. Gregor Gaskin is still missing, and when Ayala discovers he’s far outside the Mediator territory line, she'll have to unravel one of the Summit's most closely kept secrets to track him. Finding Gregor will take her far from home, but catching him might hit her right where she lives - and Gregor’s plans may just release hell on Earth before she can stop him.

Great book and series but preferred it in print

4.5 stars: I really love this series for its' good writing, excitement and uniqueness. I also love Ayala, the well-rounded yet kick-butt heroine. While significant things do happen here in book three, and there is no shortage of excitement, it felt a little bit like a placeholder between the previous books and those yet to come. Big things are happening both to Ayala and the world she lives in and this book gives us a "sneak peek" at them. I can't wait to read more. ** This is not a standalone book. You need to read the previous two books first to really follow this one. Both are amazing and I highly recommend them.

A note on the audiobook-- I listened to a little over half of this but finished it up on my kindle. While I have loved narrator Amber Benson reading other books (especially the Davis Way books by Gretchen Archer), I wasn't quite as keen on her for this one. Her voice for Ayala was just a little too laid back for me and the voices for the men were not good. She's OK, I guess, but the voice I have in my head is better and I preferred reading it in print over listening to it.

Riveting

I am hooked. Great storyline. Heroine is a true badass but still very much human. Can't wait for the next book.

Wow!

Any additional comments?

I thought the first two books in this series showed a great deal of promise and I'm happy to say that the third book more than fulfils that promise.

I love this book and this series has now moved on to autobuy for me.

There are a lot of subverted tropes in this book (along with a lot of payoffs from earlier elements). The character work is fantastic as characters show facets and layers.

I still love the shades and love Ayala's protective relationship with them.

There are a lot of really strong interesting women in this series who are allowed to be strong and interesting without fighting with the main character, this is a big deal for an urban fantasy.

Really looking forward to more.

So Much Happens In This Installment!

Ayala Storm has certainly gone through a lot since the first book of this series. She’s up against amazing odds, but she just keeps kicking ass. ;)

I’m loving this series, but I’m struggling a little to write this review. I just want to say, “Whew!” So much has happened to Ayala Storm, The Summit, and Ayala’s part of the world since Storm in a Teacup, and I’d hate to spoil it for anyone.

Personally, Ayala has become stronger and a lot less of a loner. She’s publicly an outcast, but has support from inside the Summit as well as outside. She’s learning that much of what she took as truth is a lie, or at least doesn’t have to be her truth. She’s fighting to save herself, her friends, and her world.

I know that’s fairly vague, but as I said, I don’t want to spoil anything. This is a fast-moving series, with lots of action and lots of introspection. I can feel right along with Ayala as things happen to her and around her. I think any fan of urban fantasy is going to find this series a treat.
