The work of redemption unfolds in divine order.
Scripture reveals that salvation is not confined to a single tense, but spans past, present, and future. It is something that has been accomplished, is being worked out, and will be fully revealed. This progression is not confusing when understood through the lens of trichotomy—the biblical distinction between spirit, soul, and body.
Our Spirits Have Been Translated
At regeneration, the human spirit experiences an immediate and decisive change. We are not gradually rescued from darkness; we are delivered and translated.
“For He rescued us from the authority of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of the Son of His love.” — Colossians 1:13 (LSB)
This is a completed work. The spirit is made alive together with Messiah (Ephesians 2:5 LSB), joined to Him as one spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17 LSB), and seated with Him in the heavenly places. Identity is no longer rooted in Adam, but in
Yahshua. Sonship is restored.
Our Souls Are Being Transformed
While the spirit is instantly regenerated, the soul enters a process. The mind must be renewed, the will aligned, and the emotions healed. This is not the earning of salvation, but the outworking of it.
“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”— Romans 12:2 (LSB)
“Be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind—by its new ideals and its new attitude.”— Romans 12:2 (AMPC)
Transformation occurs as the soul learns to agree with what the spirit already knows. This is where discipleship, discipline, and maturity take place. Sons learn to live from the Spirit rather than from the patterns of the fallen world.
Our Bodies Are Waiting to Be Transfigured
The final stage of redemption concerns the body. Though redeemed, the body remains mortal, awaiting its appointed transformation.
“We ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body.”— Romans 8:23 (LSB)
Yahshua’s resurrected body is the prototype. What was raised in glory will be shared in glory. Mortality will put on immortality; corruption will give way to incorruption (1 Corinthians 15:53 LSB). This is not speculation—it is promise.
Why This Matters
Creation itself is waiting.
“For the anxious longing of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of Elohim.”— Romans 8:19 (LSB)
The world does not merely need forgiven people; it is waiting for revealed sons—men and women who live from translated spirits, transformed souls, and a confident hope of transfiguration.
This book explores that journey. Not escapism. Not denial of suffering.
But the restoration of what was lost in Eden, fulfilled in the Son of Man, and revealed through the sons of Elohim.
This is the trichotomy of complete redemption.
