In the small town of Oakhaven, the annual Founder’s Day fair is a portrait of peaceful, American life. For EMT Mara Duvall and volunteer firefighter Cole Briggs, it’s a rare day off. But when the sky turns a sickly, nauseating green, the cheerful afternoon curdles into terror.

A monster tornado descends on the town, but this is no ordinary storm. When the funnel passes over the site of an abandoned industrial works, it inhales decades of buried, forgotten poison. What it exhales is a toxic, black rain that coats everything in a greasy, deadly film.

Trapped in a hardware store with a handful of survivors, Mara and Cole watch in horror as the poison begins its work. A mysterious illness spreads, causing violent coughing, horrific chemical burns, and terrifying delirium. With no help coming and society breaking down into violent chaos, Mara and Cole must uncover the truth behind the contamination and fight to keep their small group alive.
