THE TRUTH

Mark Twain once made a remarkable statement about truth. He said, “If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything.” How very true, isn’t it?! But suppose if we forget that we are a fallen race? Well, in that case either we stand the risk of compromising ourselves or the truth itself! Nevertheless the intrinsic truth in the statement quoted above still stands. And no instance from human history proves this fact practically and comprehensively in the way that Jesus did. He never said a syllable which was untrue; He never did anything which didn’t objectify the truth for which He stood all His life right to the point of death. That is the reason why Jesus succeeds where others fail. Those who have read the Holy Bible can hardly fail to notice that He was a reticent person, and if we collect all His utterances from the Holy Bible, it would hardly fill more than 20-30 pages. But, what He said has prevailed ever since He voiced it. This is because what He said was the truth. The Truth by Bertrand Hatia is an interesting book indeed in that it establishes the Truth of Jesus in an extremely insightful way, not dogmatically. Whereas The Way is, for the most part, written for the non-Christian; The Truth is meant for the Christian. Of course, this doesn’t mean that the non-Christian can’t understand it. If they have the will to learn the truth, they WILL be able to understand it. After all, Truth concerns one and all. And even if we fail to see it or choose not to see it, it is going to make no difference to the Truth. Truth will remain forever, not we – if we choose to deny it.
