This is the story of how my father, Frank Doster Wetherill, came into the world and the problems he had immigrating to the US and becoming a US citizen. The process is familiar to many who enter the US from another country and have the desire to become US citizens. My father’s story is not typical of the millions of people that enter the US. Becoming a US citizen was complicated for him even though he came from a well-connected family.
