From their lineage emerged the Chasmoniym, ancestors of the Pharisees, Sadducees, and Essenes, who later corrupted the priesthood and opposed Yahusha ha Mashiyach, fulfilling the prophecy: “You are of your father, the Diabolos.” (John 8:44)
