STAY THIRSTY PRESS PROUDLY PRESENTS: THE GODLESS TIMES - The Vengeance of Gold (1848)

In January of 1848, gold was discovered in Alta California. In February of that year the Mexican American War ended and the land was ceded to the United States. Soon afterwards, the Devil came to California.

Discovery of gold was an event with apocalyptic consequences. With law and even common decency in short supply, might-made-right ruled the day amidst a headlong quest to get rich. Would California be Free or Slave?

The Godless Times is chronologically first in Cutugno's series of historical Westerns and kicks off his Before The Tarnished Star series. It is a story of greed, raw power and ambitious women that introduces David McClure and Thomas Powell, who come to prominence later in Cutugno's The Godless Men, set in 1868.
