There were days when he just wanted to sit by a lake and hear the quiet…maybe have a stiff drink. This was one of those days.
Jonas Brownstein learned early in life that some bonds are forged quickly…and never to be broken. He learned as well that other relationships were unable to withstand the slightest test against its fragile endurance.In taking his new job at the request of a long-time friend and trusted mentor, he knows that both lessons will be valuable as he steps into the role thtat he has been asked to fill. He believes in second chances and that everyone deserves them. He also believes that anyone who makes the same mistake over and over again needs to find a different profession.
But he acknowledges, if only to himself, that he didn’t take the new job simply because of the challenges it offered. And there was no questioning that it posed both numerous challenges along with tremendous demands to his ability to be both diplomat and administrator. He knew better than most that the two didn’t always go hand-in-hand.
He also accepted the job for the simple reason that he wanted a home. And this city offered what few others did.
