But the gravest danger lies within the derelict walls of Outbound Flight, buried for half a century on a desolate planetoid. As the marooned hulk yields up stunning revelations and unexpected terrors to its visitors, Luke and Mara find all that they stand for—and their very existence—brutally challenged. The ultimate test will be surviving the deathtrap carefully laid by foes who are legendary for their ruthlessness, and determined to complete the job Thrawn began: exterminating the Jedi.

LOVE THAT IT'S UNABRIDGED!! and as always the narrator did a great job. I loved the whole experience.

the wait is over!

I’ve been looking forward to this since it was announced! The unabridged audios for the essential legends rereleases were delayed last summer so I wasn’t sure if it was going to happen for future waves. I’m so happy to finally have Survivor’s Quest! It was just as good as I hoped it would be and so much fun to revisit Survivor’s Quest in this format!

Zahn is very good. Marc Thompson is the Best. Well written

Zahn weaves a good story, Marc Thompson’s is simply the best Star Wars narrator out there; the combination creates an enticing listen/read. My only gripe is that with the ambition to create anticipation, drama and a good empathetic storyline in a protagonist(s) who is/are heroes, Luke’s power always seem to always get neutered to try and accommodate that aspect of the story line. The necessity of abstaining from the dark side is understandable, but it feels painful at so many times in the novel that Luke Skywalker has the power of a force talented Padawan. George Lucas himself stated how Luke had the potential to be what Annakin could not achieve. I get it, the Force cannot be used frivolously or with dark intentions, and being OP can be symptomatic of a downfall. But to precipitate that fear of falling to the dark side with the muting of Luke’s ability to help people, it seems it was a retraction rather than a show of modesty. Now with that said, Zahn does do a great job of layering plot lines and creating a formula of mystery in character significance; and it shows in how well it was wefted into the story-line. Great job in blending historical canon and legends, but making it tasteful. Well written book overall.
