She makes it through the intense rounds of interviews only to find out the job is for a mistress to the powerful Rafe Palazzo, owner of Palazzo Enterprises. Rafe gives her a day to think about whether she wants the position or not, and she’s sent on her way, only to find out her mother’s near-terminal illness has taken a turn for the worse. Her mom’s only in the hospital because Ari messed up, and her mother’s the one who paid the price.

Is Rafe her savior, or will he take her with him straight to the depths of hell?Ariana has a choice. Does she choose love or self-respect? Will she give up her freedom and become nothing but a shadow of herself? Ari faces an impossible ultimatum.

Horrible male voice narration

So much liked other narrations by Lily Swan. Sasha made Rafe sound snarly and gruff. If I heard a man speak like that it would set me to flight. Having read the books before and enjoyed them and also having heard the next 3 in the series I can tell you Rafe sounds like a different character. If this is the narration I heard first and before reading the books I would have gone no further in series. Sasha also makes Italian accent sound Hispanic. Will be cautious to not buy audiobooks she narrates in the future at least not without listening to a sample first to see if she has improved. Some inconsistencies in the time line of the 3 months of couples bargain. Was glad to see book 2 added to book one in this selection.

Just No!

Unlikable characters and forced situations. I didn’t realize this was a saga…it was just better to end it all with this book.
