Enjoyable

This is a great summer read but I had a little trouble keeping all the characters straight if I wasn’t giving the narration my full attention. 2 very different girls who grew up together, both who thought the other had a better life and how wrong they both were. A typical Judy Bloom easy read.

I'm not surprised that I loved it!

I've known Judy Blume my whole life and have never been disappointed. This book travels the long, winding, beautiful and bumpy roads of frisndship.

One of my very favorite books.

I started reading this book when I was 12 or so, and have read it every few years since. I've always wanted a friendship like Vix and Caitlin, but this story is a good reminder: love usually ends in heartbreak. Still, beautifully told.

An all time favorite!

I’ve read this book several yoked and has always been one of my favorites! What a treat to get this audio book! The narrator’s were fantastic and listening to it flooded me with nostalgic memories and a flurry of emotions…laughter, tears, giddiness, heartbreak, etc. if you have the opportunity I encourage you to read/listen to this gem!

Good story and decent performance

I appreciated the audio remake of this book. The performance tended to put certain themes relationships between women, teenage girls' sexuality in an updated context. At times, I did miss Kate Readings interpretation of Caitlin. Readings huskier tones for Caitlin tended to project the false sense of maturity that she had; where as Amoss interpretation was that of a little girl who never grew up. Not a criticism, but an observation.

My favorite part though, is Judy Blume's explained of the background that led to her writing the book. Very information and interesting!

Love these full cast audio recordings

The first adult Judy Blume novel I've listened to, and it won't be the last. Great story, great voice cast too, and I recognize most of the narrators from other works they've been part of. An excellent story, great characters as well.
