A nerdy introvert and a popular jock. It’s a classic odd couple, but freshman roommates Raffy and Mook become best friends. For Raffy, there's just one problem: he’s secretly falling for his very straight, girl-crazy roommate.

Hoping to help Mook impress a girl, Raffy agrees to what he thinks will be a simple bro trip: a summer research project in Vanuatu led by their eccentric, and often shirtless, anthropology professor.

But thirty-five hours of travel, one shared hotel bed, and a few cups of mind-numbing kava change everything. On the edge of an active volcano, a spark finally ignites, revealing Mook isn't as straight as he seems. He's just as into Raffy, but he's trapped by crushing family expectations to live a "proper" life.

Just as they’re discovering each other, Mook uncovers an academic secret that could ruin their professor. But when they try to expose him, their professor fights back with the one weapon that could destroy Mook: threatening to out him to his family.

Mook must choose between the perfect life everyone expects and the man he loves.
