Disappointing compared to other Bosch stories

I love the narrator Len Cariou but these short stories are nowhere as complex and layered as the novel-length ones.

Connelly never disappoints.

What made the experience of listening to Suicide Run the most enjoyable?

The audio brings it to life.

kept me interested to the end. great characters and interaction. I feel like I know these people. I like the way they drift in and out of each others stories.

What does Len Cariou bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

When I think of Harry B. I hear Len Cariou's voice in my head.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Tight story with each character adding to the plot. Love it all.

What made the experience of listening to Suicide Run the most enjoyable?

If you are short on time and just want a little filler, this is pretty good It has been well abridged and still able to get you involved

Stories are fast paced with intricate plots.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If you like realistic detective stories, the Harry Bosch series makes you feel like you know the characters, the usually two cases per story are easy to follow with just enough suspense to keep you reading. I would recommend that a person begin with the first book in the series and read them all, as Michael Connelly refers to and uses characters from past plots to maintain the realistic life of a detective through the people he works with and has crossed paths with during his lengthly career as a homicide detective. So, I yes, I do recommend this book and the rest of the series.

Not what you expect

Im not sure about how I feel about these short stories and I really dont understand why popular authors are made to write them. They always kind of have an "Im not really into this but I have to do it" kind of feel. The stories werent bad but its hard for me to really get locked into a short story like I do regular novels. As far as the performance goes...I like Len Cariou in all of the other MC books, he is usually spot on and as good as the previous reader of Harry Bosch, Dick Hill. However, for some reason he sounds weird in "Suicide Run", almost like he didnt have the art of narrating down pat yet. Had I listened to "Suicide Run" first I would have never gone onto other Harry Bosch books because of how weird Cariou sounded. Overall not bad, for 3.99 its good entertainment....exhausting a whole credit on the other hand for this is not worth it. You pay 14.99 for a gold membership so why would anyone give up a whole credit for a book that costs 3.99??

Author & Narrator, Best Combination

I am a HUGE Bosch fan. Especially when Len Cariou is the narrator. Short, and enjoyable stories that weave in nicely with previous Bosch books. Just purchased the next set of Connelly short Bosch stories as well. [Smile]

Good short stories

Len Cariou is a great narrator. These short stories were as good as I have come to expect from Michael Connelly.

Michael Connelly spins a web of suspense in all the Bosch Stories. This collection of three shorter stories are not as intricate, but they have enough detail to keep the plot going. Your interest is piqued from start to finish.

Classic Bosch

Not bad for a quick listen. Nothing real deep. Just a few short stories. Enjoy

Harry Bosch is one of my favorites. The short stories were just that too short & very predictable. Still they were written well just not as good as the full novel.
