Resumen del Editor

Four years have passed since tragedy broke Grace’s family apart, tarnished the family name, and sent her into hiding at finishing school. Now, with a new last name and a few years between her and the accident, Grace wonders if she will be able to escape the heavy shadow of the past that smothers her with guilt and a desire to escape life.

Grace carefully guards her heart from others to prevent them from discovering her past. However, when Mitch, a deputy, comes into her life, he seems bent on destroying Grace’s armor. Can Grace really trust someone with the secrets that haunt her, or will they destroy her once again?

My Wife loved this book!

I got this book for my wife and we both listened to it in the car on a long drive. We both really enjoyed the story. I liked the Western genre and my wife really liked the budding relationship between Grace and Mitch. Overall, a well written and sweet book. The narrator, Lauren Holladay, was outstanding.

Beautiful story of hope

Sufficient Grace is a beautiful tale of hope, loss, grief, healing, pain, relationships, family, and trust. I particularly enjoyed how the narrator incorporated accents into the characters. The reading was smooth and enjoyable. The characters were vivid and relatable. The message was clear and sweet. I highly recommend this book.

Sufficiently wonderful!

This book is a real blessing. The story flowed well and had plenty of twists and turns to keep me hopping. Looking forward to Volume 2 from Jessica Grayson. I love her writing and the narration by Lauren Holladay was masterfully done!

I highly recommend this audio book. Especially if you are looking for a clean book to read and can listen to with the kids..

So Good! New favorite book!

This book was amazing! I listened to it all in one day! I couldn't stop! Grace and Mitch were so real. The pain Grace was going through. Mitch's emotions in wanting to help Grace. The whole storyline was great! Let God love you and help you. Let others love you and help you. That is so important to remember.

So many things to like!

I love to listen to audiobooks while doing hand projects, so to find this audiobook made me quite happy. I went in not entirely knowing what to expect, and was pleasantly surprised.

What I liked:
Ms. Greyson is a master at creating suspense. The first half of the book was so uncomfortable and...just...flat-out annoying because of that fact. I mean, when you start a book and you know there’s a mystery...but then things just keep happening wrong because of said mystery, and some the characters are confused because of the mystery and keep asking and wondering about it while the ones who know the mystery aren’t saying anything, and you (as the listener) are just sitting there for THREE HOURS in agony as the suspense builds....yeah. The author knows how to create suspense. It hurt in a wonderful way.
While the basic storyline (if you were to bother to map it out) may be a bit cliche for some, Ms. Greyson knows how to make a basic storyline and turn it into something interesting and different. I mean, I listened to the book in just over 2 days, because I had to know HOW everything turned out right.
As any author knows, characters have a way of getting out of hand sometimes, and showing parts of their personality that weren’t supposed to come out in the initial draft. A couple of scenes in the book are totally that, and we (as the reader/listener) get to see random sides of the characters that are really funny. It helps them be more real. I mean....girls arguing over a necklace?
Ms. Greyson did a good job of touching on topics like pain, fear, depression and suicide, and addressed them with solutions (the Solution?) that have helped so many in their same shoes. So while the book was a novel, it was also edifying, which I highly appreciated.
The author knows how to work with words. She used word pictures and interested descriptions and didn’t say “said” all the time.
The narrator was a joy to listen to. She did a good job helping the characters come to life, especially further into the book.

What I liked less
The characters were confusing at times. They sometimes behaved in ways inconsistent with their description or with how many people in a similar emotional state would act. The main character would often flip between laughter and tears without any clear reason or description. Yes, I know girls can be emotionally weird at times, but this was more confusing. The characters could also be a bit flat at times. I mentioned earlier how I appreciated how the author touched on depression and fear and suicide and such, which is true, but at times, her handling of it (especially depression and suicide) was a little shallow. The characters who were supposed to be dealing with said things didn’t act like those I’ve met who are struggling with the same...mainly in that their problems were all too easily solved (usually with just a conversation or two). It wasn’t terrible or anything. The characters just felt “flat” in that way.
Occasionally, the book would get confusing when the author would forget to mention a detail. For example, within the first 10 minutes, I was lost, because she forgot to mention who all the extra females were until halfway through the chapter. Nothing too terrible, but every once in a while, something like that would happen and I’d be lost for a bit. She eventually would mention something that would clear my confusion, but for a bit, I’d be so confused.

Anyway, that’s my two cents after listening to it. Overall, I definitely recommend it. It’s fun to listen to, and edifying overall.
