Life often feels like a battlefield. We face pressures that weigh on the heart, doubts that test the mind, and obstacles that demand courage. In those moments, we long for a place of safety—a firm refuge that will not be shaken. Scripture reminds us that God Himself is our stronghold:
“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1)
These insights are drawn from my own journey—shaped in no small part by my seven years as an enlisted soldier in the U.S. Army. In uniform, I learned what it meant to keep watch through long nights, to stand firm under pressure, and to rely on strength greater than my own when mine was spent. Those lessons, when joined with the unshakable truths of Scripture, became the foundation of this devotional.
This 10-day journey is not about rushing toward perfection but about steady steps—day by day—just as a soldier learns to put one foot in front of the other, no matter how long the road. Each day offers a passage of Scripture, a short reflection, and (beginning on Day 7) a prayer to anchor your spirit.
Whether you are navigating challenges in your personal life, wrestling with uncertainty, or simply longing to draw closer to God, this devotional invites you to pause, reflect, and remember: you are never alone. The same God who steadies the soldier in battle strengthens you today. His Word is your guide, His presence your shield, and His love your unshakable fortress.
My hope is that these ten days will help you not only find rest in God’s stronghold but also rise with renewed courage to face whatever lies ahead.
