What a practical book! Although it would greatly help at any stage of a loved one's illness, the time to read is very early. The chapter on financing your loved one's care is essential. Don't wait until the care for your loved one has taken over your life and ravaged you like I did. This book, had I found it early on, would has saved me so much heartache. God bless you, Amber!

As someone involved in caregiving for a loved one with dementia, I found this audiobook to provide insightful support that goes beyond just surface-level advice. I appreciated how it speaks directly to the daily struggles that caregivers face like managing difficult behaviors, navigating complex legal and financial matters, or simply finding the strength to keep going when we're tired. The strategies for communicating with loved ones and diffusing aggression were particularly helpful and presented in a way that's easy to understand and apply. It also doesn’t shy away from the emotional side of caregiving which I appreciated, and how it offers realistic advice for self-care and preventing burnout. I found the sections on time management and organizing caregiving tasks to be practical and helpful unexpectedly. It’s clear that this book is written with a deep understanding of the caregiving experience, and it brings both comfort and valuable insights to anyone in that role.
