Strange Honeymoon

Have you ever been so close to the edge that you’ve said, “That’s it—enough”? Andrea has.

Andrea is already past forty and she’s sick of everything and everyone: a job that bores her, a boss she can’t stand, a boyfriend who ignores her… and, to top it all off, her best friend asks her to be her maid of honor. Faced with that, Andrea finds only one quick escape: drink and drink. But something truly awful is about to happen—and she knows it from the moment her friend confesses, in whispers and panic, that she doesn’t want to get married.

Minutes before everything blows up, and thanks to her boss’s latest idiotic move, Andrea remembers an almost comical detail: she has a cheque for one million pounds that—unbelievably—she forgot to cash. Then comes the final blow: a text from her boyfriend dumping her, a call from her boss calling her useless, and on top of that, everyone convinced Andrea has “ruined” the wedding by persuading the bride not to go through with it. She snaps.

Drunk, furious, and falling apart, she decides to steal the honeymoon plane tickets and impersonate her friend at the resort where the couple were supposed to spend their perfect days. Her plan is simple: vanish off the radar and keep the money. But paradise takes a sharp turn during a layover, when she runs into a disturbingly unexpected version of her boss: kind, attentive… almost human.

After more than just words with him in the airport bathroom, Andrea’s life spirals into complications beyond anything she could have imagined. Will she survive the honeymoon… and cash the check?
