again I am saying knock off all the pointless sex anything. all you do is irritate people because this is not 50 shades of Grey; I care about magic and intriguing story, not some guy F***ing a cat lady or any of that shit. Get laid yourself, or be like me and not care about 5ex and just write your damn book.

Pass the Ducky...

Classic Lackey and Valdemar and in this case Karse. I do wish that Misty would assume more direct control over who does her audiobooks, however. David Ledoux has a good voice, but he is a narrator not a master of voices. Worst of all, he obviously has a limited vocabulary. I simply could not immerse myself in the story because of rookie mistakes in pronunciation. The one that grated the most, and the most unforgivable was "ducky" for duchy. Shame on the producers for letting that one pass.

make sure you have the next book

this ends in an almost cliffhanger, so make sure you have the next one (storm breaking) ready. this is a great book but does not stand alone, like many of Lackeys trilogies.

Story great, voice narrator not so much

The voice actor needs lessons in pronunciation. How can one say “duchess” correctly but then repeatedly pronounce “duchy” as “ducky.” Sigh. I enjoyed the story immensely, but nearly knocked myself out with the constant face-palming due to the horrible narration.

Pronunciation

I love this story. but the pronunciation of "duchy" as "ducky" multiple times dropped me right out of it every single time. Really, how did you get a job as a narrator. it's even obvious from context.

Terrible Narrator

The narrator is truly terrible. I don’t know how he got the job to voice this, but it was a mistake.

love all of the valdamar series

loved the book i can't wait to listen to the next in the series. I have been a huge fan of Mercedes Lackey for many years.

The story is great not the narrator

It’s lucky the story is so good otherwise I couldn’t have made it through this narrators terrible voice choices, or his inability to properly pronounce words. Barracks is not pronounced bar-racks- for instance. Also the gryphons extend their “ssss” they do not sound like demons. So bad.

Karal, Tremane, and An'desha battle the storms

Another wonderful, full story. The story has everyone in it, but focused on Karal, Tremane, and An'desha as they struggle to overcome the Mage Storms.

Good Book, Rough Narration

The Narriation gets very rough, it lost a star for David Ledoux *awful* griffon voice alone. If Treyvan and Hydona featured more prominently like the last series, this would be completely un-listenable.
