Stories from Puranas
There are eighteen Puranas and an equal number of Up Puranas. All these Puranas are full of Amazing stories, which also contain information about political and geographical changes in India during the ancient times.
The author has selected the most beautiful stories for the readers and narrated the same in a very entertaining way.

While the wisdom from the Vedas and Upanishads is for all ages past and all ages to come. So, they do not help us understand the Indian history and culture of the ancient period. If we want to know about the greatness and antiquity of our glorious past, we need to read our Puranas and History books like Mahabharata, and Ramayana. The information does not come from boring intellectual works but from very entertaining stories.

Puranas have been accepted as a good source of history post-invasion by Alexander since they ditto the accounts given by Greek historians. However, earlier history available in Puranas has been completely ignored. These contain valuable insight into the past, and may be used to outline the ancient Indian history.

One may ask the benefit of the study of such stories in modern times. Indeed, human nature does change in perspective and value. However, it is also true that it does remain sufficiently constant to justify the study of ancient history, and we do not have a better source for our ancient history and culture other than Itihasa and Puranas. The solutions offered by the History and Puranas, though conditioned in their modes of expression by their time, have not been seriously affected by the march of modern achievements.
One may also note that the modern Hindu Dharma is linked and can be understood better through the lens of Puranas.

The Author has narrated more than forty highly entertaining selected stories from Puranas in this part of the series. These cover different Yugas of human life in this world. These stories may provide solutions to different types of extant problems of grown-ups in interesting ways. The selection of stories is such that these are also suitable for teenagers and young minds as well.

While some of the stories are well known like the Matsya avatar, the story of Dhruva and Prahlad, and the Kansa badh; the author has brought some very hidden stories such as of Hayagriva incarnation of Lord Vishnu, of Queen Madalasa, and others.
