Torturous tension, sweet payoff & great narration

I enjoyed how the beginning of Stolen Moments, the second book in the New Haven series, overlaps with a few events from the first book, but shows them from Alex and Zac’s perspectives. It added depth and made the story even more engaging.

The slow burn between these two is torturous in the best way. Their banter, misunderstandings, and undeniable chemistry create that classic will-they-won’t-they tension that keeps you hooked. To everyone else, they look like enemies, but if you’re paying attention, you see the sparks. It reminded me of those schoolyard crushes where teasing covers up true feelings, only now with much higher stakes.

I did feel a little bad for Alex’s boyfriend, but it was clear he wasn’t fully invested either. Comfort and compatibility don’t equal lasting love, and Zac challenges Alex in all the right ways.

Lisa Lynn Sandlin’s narration really shines. She captures the frustration, longing, and family and friendship warmth beautifully, making the emotions hit even harder. A perfect match for this romance.

If you love enemies-to-more and best friend’s brother tropes, this audiobook delivers all the tension, sweetness, and heart.

Such a sweet story!

Such a sweet but frustrating story 😂 and I mean that in a good way! It's got some enemies to lovers vibes, where they both have feelings and yet deny them so to cope they treat each other badly, which is honestly funny to read. You know how each one feels and then see how they act around each other and both are sitting there thinking, Oh they hate me 😔, but in reality it's the opposite. So when I say it's frustrating because I am rooting for this couple so hard and they love each other and are so perfect, and YET they refuse to make things work for a long time. But that is a sign of a good couple, you love the journey, love seeing them learn to love and grow together, knowing how perfect they are together even if they are blind, and it makes the ending so worth it.

I also loved the best friend's brother trope, such a fun one! It makes life more complicated but all the better for an interesting story :) They also live in different states so that is an issue too. Dating other people throughout the book is just one more hurdle but it never feels right to them because they know they are in love but try and hide it. So as you can see its a journey to be sure full of tension, witty moments, cuteness, stolen kisses, hopeless love, a large supportive friend group, misunderstandings, growth, and learning to compromise for those you truly love.

I also really enjoyed the fact that the characters from the last book are all in this one so we get an update on them as well as seeing a new love story. And it starts off during the ending of the last book which I thought was really cool! Also the ending literally so perfect! It was a rough road to get there lol but it's beautiful, sweet, and so satisfactory! Can't wait to see what happens in the rest of the series!

The narrator, Lisa does such a great job on every book she narrates and I love her books! She gives each character personality, bringing them to life perfectly. She puts so much emotion into it as well. She helps you feel fully immersed and connected to the story. It's also very easy to follow along with the story even sped up like I like it.

Zac and Alexandra are in love but they can’t seem to find a way to make it work—between misunderstandings, dating the wrong people, and living in different cities, it seems they may have nothing more than stolen kisses beneath the mistletoe! Narrated by Lisa Lynn Sandlin, this was an enjoyable escape.

I can’t wait to see what book number three has in store for me. Also!! I highly recommend listening to the audiobook version by Ms Lisa Lynn Sandlin, she was able to narrate the characters emotions flawlessly!

The Thanksgiving setting added warmth and charm, the perfect backdrop for stolen kisses and unexpected moments that made my heart race.

What really stood out to me was the emotional weight behind the romance. Alexandra’s longing for a family and Zac’s struggle with balancing his demanding career and his heart made their journey feel raw and relatable. I found myself rooting for them through every obstacle, and when sparks finally flew, it felt so worth it.

I listened to the audiobook, and I can’t rave enough about Lisa Lynn Sandlin’s narration. She captured the tension, the sweetness, and the heartbreak with such nuance. Her performance pulled me even deeper into the story,every emotion, every glance, every whispered word felt tangible. She turned an already wonderful book into an unforgettable listening experience.

If you’re looking for a heartfelt romance filled with longing, family, and just the right amount of angst, this one is a must-read and even more so, a must-listen!
