Resumen del Editor

Being a FireSoul has its perks. Cass Clereaux can find any type of magical treasure or steal any magical power. She'll pick hunting treasure any day because she doesn't have to kill for it, but that doesn't mean she hasn't stolen powers before.

She needs them to stay alive. A fight to the death is the least of what she can expect if other supernaturals find out what she is, so Cass has become an expert at lying low.

When her friend is sucked into a magical portal, she's the only one with the power to help him. But what Cass uncovers is a danger greater than she'd ever imagined - and linked to her past in a way she'd never expect.

Even worse, the portal puts her whole town at risk. As the threat grows, she must confront her fear of losing control over her new powers or lose any hope of saving hundreds of lives.

Another excellent adventure with our Fire Soul

Any additional comments?

I received this audio book in exchange for my honest review.

I'm seriously a fan of this series. As I've said in my reviews of Ancient Magic and Mirror Mage, the characters are fun and quirky and the adventures are fast-paced and exciting.

The got-your-back friendships in this series continue to impress me. People who put themselves on the line for each other are a rare gem and make for wonderful characters to read about. The relationship between Aidan and Cass continues to grow, and I really like these two together. With their full-on crisis mode adventures, they get so little time to fall in love, but they are definitely on that road.

I also loved the expansion of the world and unique creatures in this book. I absolutely loved the elemental dragonettes. Of course, the unique abilities of very key players in this story were fascinating to me as well. I loved the portal and other-world depiction.

But most of all, I love a series where the protagonists continue to develop and their depth of character is shown again and again. Cass faces the Monster in this adventure, and I can't wait to see her take him down for good one day! Our brave and determined Cass put herself at risk in the previous book, but here she sacrifices a lot of who she is and what has become so important to her. But she does it willingly so that she can save her town and protect her friends. Will she be able to get back what she lost? I don't know! I need the next book to find out!

A solid 4.5 stars from me.

Great Addition to A Fun Series

I have enjoyed every book in this series and this one is no exception! The characters are interesting, fun, and exciting.

The story has a lot of action and it is quite fast paced during their explorations! Aidan's and Cass relationship continues to grow as she starts to trust him more and more.

The dragonettes are so cute and a great addition to the series.

Cass has to make some major decisions in this book. She is such a selfless and caring character. She gives up a lot to save her city & friends.

The narrator does a good job bringing the story to life. The story concludes in a somewhat of a cliffhanger. Cass has given up a lot and I hope she will get it back in the next book.

Cass faces fears, external and internal.

Which character – as performed by Laurel Schroeder – was your favorite?

Laurel is back for the next book! Her voice has become Cass for me. And she does different tones and scratchiness for different characters, making it easy to hear who's who. The audio is clear and nothing distracting me from the voice and story. Thank you for returning to continue on with these characters!

Any additional comments?

Cass faces many terrible fears she has at the same time. First is The Monster, the terrible man that her and her sisters ran from at the age of fifteen. It ends up he has his own plans, and crosses paths with Cass. That meeting is a closer one than anything previously. She worries about being found out, that the firesoul in her will be discovered and her and her sisters will be taken to prison. Then, one of her biggest fears, the desire in her from her firesoul to take powers. In her own way and when needed she finds the strength to carry on, growing as a character as she goes.

Cass is worried because she feels the draw, pull, need to take another's magic when they die. It's like her firesoul takes over and compels her to do it. She doesn't like that feeling and doesn't want to steal another's magic, even if they are dying. It's not right. And worst, she likes the feel of the power. It scares her. She needs to gain control of it.

Cass also has to help her friend, Dr. Garriso. When she gets Dr. Garriso back, Cass and all learn what the Chalice of Youth really can do. And they don't want the Monster from her past to get it. Really don't want him to get it. But, now the chalice is at the museum, that the Monster is trying to steal and by doing so has put Magic's Bend in danger of destruction.

Cass spends time with Aidan. *sigh* He's a wonderful man. He wants to help Cass and date her too. I can't believe they've only known each other for a few weeks, maybe a month. They've spent so much time together with all the events surrounding Cass that they have learned a lot about each other. Aidan is determined to get his date in any way he can get with the limited time the find between moments of rush and worry. He's such a sweet man. *sigh* (yes, I'm repeating!)

This book feels to up the anty with danger and what Cass has to face, personally, mentally, and danger wise of the whole town with the Monster.

I've really found I've enjoyed this series thus far. I like seeing Cass as she learns and grows as a character with her friends. And I'm more and more curious about The Monster. What is the story with Cass and how will she carry on from here? I look forward to all the stories to come in this magical world!

Review Stolen Magic

What can I say, I'm hooked, this series is great, try it and you will see.
The saga continues in this book. We have yet to stop the 'monster ' but there is progress and hope. The romance deepens even as the adventure gets more challenging and lives lay in the balance.

Excellent listen

The pace of this book was steady and the narration excellent. The Fire Souls go up against the monster from their past while trying to save the town and their friends. It ends in a sort of cliff hanger.

That ending...

This one was weird for me because even though the first part of the book was really exciting, I just didn't enjoy it that much until Cass went to look for the Nullifier. Once that happened all bets were off, and I raced through the rest of the book. It was that good.

I especially liked how Cass and Aidan finally got to go on a date, and it was so them!

The ending, omg, how can you do this to me Linsey? I mean, for serious. That made me wish I had the next one on hand now.

Word choice disappointing

The story line was great. However, overuse of "shit" and "said" was very distracting.
