Acerca de esta escucha
In the heat of a Greek island summer, some slake their thirsts with cool, clear water. Others prefer something stronger, but disgraced government minister Gikas Fragolis has taken his love of the bottle too far. His habitual drunkenness has cost him his job and lost him many friends - but is it at the root of an enemy's wish to see him dead?
In this first short story featuring the enigmatic Greek detective, Hermes Diaktoros uncovers good intentions gone bad and plumbs the murky depths of human nature for an unlikely killer.

A good short story
I wish it would have been longer so that I could have gotten into the story more. I loved the gruff English detective with a heart. An enjoyable story to read while eating lunch!

Excellent Short Greek Mystery
This is my first listen featuring Greek detective, Hermes Diaktoros, and I loved it! I wish there were more of the books on audio. This one caught and held my attention. The people on the small Greek island all have their ideas about things, and Hermes has the personality to gently draw them out. A monopoly on the town's drinking water (can we say it is HOT there 😁) has most folks in a stir and is at the root of the evil that is plaguing the town. But what could that have to do with the death of former government minister Gikas Fragolis ? Excellent short mystery and great conclusion.
