Bless her soul, she always knew how to stir things up, even from beyond, and she be doin' that when she left the ol' sprawling plantation only ever owned by whites to lil Gert in her will. Her kind gesture set a whirlwind of emotions and plans for the future in the heart of her great-granddaughter, Gertrude Bentley.

A Great Book
This one is such a memorable book adding new twists, turns and everything in between. Willie Jr. and his granddaughter's Lil Gert bond is strong as ever as they venture back across the pond to settle into Alabama at the Seller's Plantation that Willie Jr. mom Miss Gertie bought when it came up for sale. Lil Gert turns the old plantation into a bed and breakfast and also an sunflower farm. There is drama almost from the beginning. I'm so glad I decided to listen to this series and cannot wait to delve into the next book in this series. The virtual narration is decent.
