Great addition to the high republic

The flashy “Star Wars” background sounds that accompany several of the Star Wars audiobooks is NOT present. However the story is so good you don’t notice most the time.

This book teeters on the line of being a horror story at several points with many dark moments. In the arc of the High Republic it was a great addition to the final phase of the initiative.
Also George Mann is a GOAT.

Cool to get some behind the scenes info on the “bad guys”!

This was a great book and story! I didn’t want the book to end. I wanted the story to go on.

Narration

I loved the story. But, yhe narrator doesn't capture many of the characters spirits, vocally. I believe she could have done both Elzar and Yoda better. Elzar sounded too haggard. Yoda sounded like a person who normally talks, not like how Yoda talks. She did, however, perform Komack Vitus' excellently! That's important, as he is a main character within this particular novel.

Great story with bad narration

As with most of the high republic books, I very much enjoyed the story. After listening to all of them up until this one, I must say that the narrator, and I won’t call her a storyteller, was incredibly dull and dry. I felt as though anybody I know could be reading the book Word for Word to me. Other books in the series narrated by people like Mark Thompson, use their talent to change the voices of all of the different characters, even maintaining them through multiple books. This narrator did not. Sure from time to time she deepen her voice to try and sound like a male character, but it took everything I had to not turn it off and skip the book.
