That’s where Phee Goena, self-proclaimed liberator of treasures, comes in, with a couple of jobs she swears will get them the funds they need. Despite Hunter’s concern with Phee’s precarious plans, the rest of the crew is fine following her lead.

Things go wrong almost immediately, as Phee’s droid blows the crew’s cover at a high-stakes auction, and they barely make it out with the relic they’d been paid to acquire. Hunter insists they finish their first mission and deliver the relic before taking on more work, but Phee and the others push forward with a second job: ferrying a couple on the run, one of whom is due to give birth at any moment. Hunter worries that they’re risking too much, especially when their mysterious new passengers cling to lies and secrets that trace back to an Imperial Security Bureau officer hot on their trail.

As Hunter tries to get the crew back on a stable, safe path far, far away from anything to do with the Empire’s watchdogs, their overlapping missions only invite more danger and chaos. On the verge of failing both their desperate passengers and their community on Pabu, the Batch must remember that the only way they succeed, the only way they survive to fight another day, is by trusting each other.

Did not disappoint!

I was worried that because the Bad Batch series was so magnificent, the book would be underwhelming, but I was wrong. Quite an accomplished book in my opinion (especially as the first Star Wars book by the author). The Batch is portrayed more or less like the fandom imagined it (especially Hunter). Congratulations to the author and hoping for many more Bad Batch novels to follow, with deeper character development around the clone psyche.

A Phee Genoa story

I was looking forward to this book, but was disappointed to find how much Phee takes center stage. Her character and voice are annoying and take me out of the story every time she opens her mouth. Her highschool infatuation with Tech, calling him "Brown Eyes" etc,, were eye rolling during the show, but even more out of place in this gritty tale.

non stop action

there is a plot that permeates through the whole adventure. However, the main component of the whole story is the physical action that only stops at the end.

the novel was very great, it was so good to listen the Bad Batch back in action even since after the animated series had ended.

There was nothing I could recall that I disliked leaving it at that the story reminded me of Jedi Battle Scars

If only Marc Thompson…

… could automatically narrate everything I ever read. He really transforms every book into a masterpiece performance. The story was fun as well. A nice filler between seasons and a great opportunity for a little more time with my favorite clone, Tech.

Great story

Almost like watching one of the Bad Batch episodes. I hope there's more bb novels down the road.

Bad Batch Sanctuary

The dark times are my favorite Star Wars era. The Bad Batch is easily my favorite show. All the characters are handled perfectly. the story is super fun. hopefully this is the first in a long series.

A Good SW Tale

Flowed well. Easy to listen to.Not Earth shattering, but it captioned the Bad Batch dynamics well.
