The Federation races to discover the culprits of several terrorist attacks, sending their flagship, the USS Prometheus, to stop war breaking out in the galaxy.
A dangerous evil is flourishing in the Alpha Quadrant. In the Lembatta Cluster, a curious region of space, fanatics who call themselves the Purifying Flame are trying to start a galactic war, and the warlike Klingons are baying for blood. The Federation have sent the USS Prometheus to settle the crisis, and the crew must contend with both the hostile Renao, the secretive inhabitants of the Cluster, and the Klingon captain of the IKS Bortas, who is desperate for war.

A mysterious terrorist organisation has carried out several attacks against the Federation and Klingon Empire. Tensions are running high in a region already crippled by conflict. The perpetrators are tracked to the Lembatta Cluster, a mysterious region of space whose inhabitants, the Renao, regard the Alpha Quadrant s powers as little more than conquering tyrants. The Federation are desperate to prevent more bloodshed, and have sent their most powerful warship, the USS Prometheus, into the Cluster to investigate the threat before all-consuming war breaks out.

A mission to mispronounce
I realize the journey that this book has traveled. Originally in German, translated into English, narrated by someone British, and listen to by an audience in America. However, it is almost comical how many words that the narrator mispronounces. And not mispronounced in a cute British vs American way. Mispronounced words which are part of the common lexicon of Star Trek, that someone somewhere could have instructed him how to pronounce correctly. During the first volume, I was frustrated at the number of words he could not seem to pronounce as they have been pronounced in all previous Star Trek media. But it's at a ridiculous level in this book. Any fan who haa watched a modicum of episodes and movies in the Star Trek franchise could have corrected his pronunciations before they were recorded.

a good continuation from the first story.
I enjoyed this story almost as much as this as the first story. it had a really good plot and it had a really good ending as well. I hope they come out with a third book soon in English.

Enjoyed this series very much.
Easy to follow the character development and interesting plot twists to keep it moving along. Well-written and I enjoyed listening to the Narrator as well. Thanks for a great story.

Second better than first
It seems they learned from the first book and kept the story more on point so there was less disconnection in the storyline. I'm hoping the third will be as good or better.

Performance sucked
I found the performance of this whole series was a total disaster. The reader could not even pronounce half of the words correctly. I loved the story, but it needed someone who is familiar with the Star Trek Universe to perform the book.

Pronunciations Threw Me
Some of the pronunciations of common Trek terms threw me in the performance but I enjoyed the story. Narrators should be given pronunciation guides for franchise work.
